Baby Watch - 8:14 a.m. PST MEDICAL INFO - Read at your own risk

No news. The ultrasound was uneventful - everything is normal and well with the baby. My blood pressure is high, but stable. I feel as great as I can in my beached-whale state.

The result of the ultrasound per the OB on call was that the baby's head and shoulders are "large". Okay. My hips aren't all that small... He said that didn't matter. He offered me either an elective cesarean or an induction this morning. Obviously I chose to be induced...

We're here at the hospital now. They gave me Cervidil to help the cervix get squishy and ready to open. We wait for 24 hours like this and tomorrow morning they will start the oxytocin. There is a small possibility that the Cervidil will start active labor and we can avoid the artificial oxytocin. We'll see what happens.
