Whoa

So I logged into the blog today after the holiday was over (Simchat Torah ended at 7:12 PM local time) and saw that the baby is due in 9 weeks and 6 days. Whoa. I had been thinking ten weeks, but to the "9 weeks" was a little bit jolting.

Our little one (still can't decide if I think it's a boy or a girl - sometimes I have a vision of a little blond boy, other times of a brown-haired girl... we'll just have to wait and see) continues to be active in spite of his/her diminishing space. It's comforting. I also have started to have conversations with the baby. It seems as though every time Mark and I are discussing something, the baby kicks at a crucial part of the conversation, as if participating already in our family life. We've been having fun imagining what the baby would say about important issues of the day (what we should have for dinner, when we should set the alarm to go off, etc.).

My hip joints have started to ache. I foolishly imagined that, since I have wide hips to begin with, perhaps they wouldn't feel the need to stretch even wider. Guess I was wrong. The same hormones causing the hip pain are also causing pain in my knuckles when I wake up in the morning. Apparently this isn't a very common symptom - no one I've talked to has had it. Maybe I'm talking to the wrong people.

We got our stroller in Vancouver the other day. It's very slick. I wanted to wheel it around the neighborhood this weekend, but figured that would be a little weird...

Here's a pic - the green is brighter and more apple-y in real life:

Hmmm,

I kinda like this stroller better:

And when the tot gets a little older, maybe this:

And you call yourself a Michigan alum. =P

PS - Of course, if our kid shows any inclination towards racing, like his/her humble pa, we shall provide said toddler with this:

It's made of aerospace grade titanium, costs $1000 ($1175 CAN) and checks in at a nimble 2.2 lbs.

Nothing but the best will do. =P
