Budgets and Food

Bit by bit we're trying to pay down debt and even save a little bit of money. To this end, I have been trying to do one big shop every two weeks at a discount grocery store. In order to do this, I'm making a weekly menu plan that we will try to stick to - fewer trips to the grocery store = less money spent on food, I think. :) Here's the menu for this week (more for my own records than for your interest):

Snacks this week

PB crackers
hummous and cut veg
bananas
apples
oatcakes


Mon (make oatcakes and wasa, shop, tassles for Vodka, make yogurt)
Amish oatmeal with yogurt
leftover pasta (Kiv - Liberte yogurt, oatcakes, carrot slices)
tacos (ww tortillas, avocado, onion, lettuce, ground beef)

Tues (chiro PM, make paneer)
cheese omelette and fruit
spelt bagels and veggie yogurt cheese
paneer and salmon fish kakkies roasted root veg and salad, kale chips

Wed
PB oatmeal and fruit
sweet pepper feta frittata
Moroccan lamb stew in clay baker, rice, garlic braised chard

Thurs (bake cupcakes and assemble shalach manos)
fruit cobbler and yogurt
apples and PB
Garden Veggie Quiche (if cheese arrives - fried eggs, roasted potato, and veg if not)

Fri
Carrot-Almond-Ricotta muffins
noodles and fruit
grape juice, spelt artisan challah, hummous, broccoli kugel, roasted chicken, salad

Shabbos
cinnamon rolls
grape juice, spelt artisan challah, salmon salad, hummous, cholent w/ kishke
PB and banana sammies - snacks at party

Sun (Purim)
pancakes
Purim Seuda at Chabad
