I can't believe it's been almost 2 weeks since I last posted. Yikes. I'll try to get to the pictures/video tomorrow.
Here are the highlights on the little man:
* He sits... kind of... still leans on his hands, but he'll sit without me hovering over him - long enough to grab a camera and take several shots anyway.
* He has an amazing repertoire of sounds - including (but not limited to) growling, giggling, and squeaking.
* He can almost put his foot in his mouth...
* He tips the scale at 18 lbs 11 oz (almost double his birth weight).
* He likes... kale? Yeah. Go figure. I made some soup that was all organic veg and water then I smooshed it with our electric hand mixer. Lo and behold, Akiva couldn't get enough of it! He's not officially on solid food. We're giving him tastes of things we're eating (veg and fruit only) as long as they're organic.
* He loves apples.
* He rolls from his back to his front - have I posted that already. I think he started more than a month ago but has recently perfected the maneuver.
* He reaches and grabs only the things he's not supposed to. I can dangle toys in front of him all day long and he'll kind of grab at them. What does he really like to grab? Dishes I'm washing, pens I'm using, the computer keyboard, the hair at the base of my neck (yowza!).
* He prefers to sleep on his side. Rolls into position no matter how I put him down.
* He desperately wants to crawl but his chubby arms and legs haven't figured out how, yet. Hoping the floor refinishing guys will show up soon.
* He's still not a fan of the bath. He tolerates them, but that's about it.
Hmm. I'll keep thinking. I think I missed the womanly gene that demands all baby accomplishments be documented to the exact day. Guess Akiva will have to be satisfied with an approximation.
