* He's started sitting up in his stroller a little (pic below) as he loves to look around at everything.
* He adores shiny things and lights, especially.
* He's fascinated by watching us eat. "They" (the nurses at the public health unit, the books we've read, etc.) recommend waiting until 6 mo to start on real food (rice cereal, etc.) due to the rise in allergies over the past 20 or so years. I doubt we'll make it that long. If he's this interested in food now, he'll be hard to say no to once he starts reaching. Since neither Mark nor I have allergies, we'll try to hold out until he's 5 months (but still no dairy products until he's 1...you know who you are;).
* He also has started wanting to sit upright more. I see him lift his head and try to sit from a lying-down position. If I offer him my thumbs, he'll flex his little biceps and pull himself to sitting (with a little help from Mom...).
We had our first outing without him on Sunday night. Mark's parents, Nana and Grandpa, kept him while we went to a fundraising dinner. He did well for the most part. It was hard to be away from him, but I knew he was in good hands.
Here he is in his stroller today. I took him out with the idea that he could hang out and look around while I pulled weeds. I got 5 minutes, I think before he was bored and we came in. Bit by bit...

Hey -- it's been more than a week and no new pictures!
Thanks for the updates -- it helps us in MI keep up-to-date on our favorite ex-patriate (and family).
